Tatler CSP

  1) Look at the  Tatler Media Pack . Go to page 2: how does the editor introduce the magazine? The editor introduce the magazine as "The new posh rules for the 21st centurat."which means that this is magazine is target for the upper class. 2) Now go to page 4 of the Media Pack. Focus on the print magazine (NOT tatler.com - the website). List the key demographic details: age, gender %, ABC1 % (social class), HHI (Household Income), % of those living in London and the South East. Magazines: Introduction + Representation

  1) Write a definition of   representation  in media studies. Clue: The answer is in the notes above! The way media portrays the world/what's going on in the world. 2) Now look at the cover of Closer magazine above. List all different types of people and groups represented on the front cover. E.g. women, celebrities, race/ethnicity etc. Mostly women and their romantic status for example Cheryl's secret dates , and marriage, the first gay dad. 3) What does the representation of women on this front cover suggest female audiences are mainly interested in? It suggests the female audieces are interested in dating scandals or celebrities romantic status's. 4) Are there any stereotypes you can identify?
