 1) CLAMPS = Costume, Lighting, Actor, Makeup and Hair, Props, Setting 

 2) Stranger Things is a sci-fi Horror and Fantasy TV show

 3) First CLAMP is Lighting: The denotation for the lighting is I saw green tinted lights flickering in a lab on the opening scene, I also saw the scenes were all set at night time, These also have connotations of horror because it's very common that horror movies and tv shows are set at night to add an eerie feeling. . The connotations for the green lights are the genre for Sci-Fi but also the flickering part tells us something is about to happen, also usually in horror or thriller movies before something scary happens the lights usually turn off or start to flicker.

3b) Second CLAMP is Setting: My denotations for settings are in the opening scene there was a government laboratory and the next scene was in a family home. My connotations for this is the house looked quite old and not really modern so it looks like the time is set in the 80s. I got this idea from the colour but also the mothers hairstyle who was in the house.


3c) Third CLAMP is costume: My denotations for the costume is in the lab scene someone was wearing a lab coat. Connotations: even if you didn't know that the building was a lab then this tells us and the audience that it definitely is a science lab because of the obvious lab coat costume.

There are some nice creative touches and a clear understanding shown of target audience. Specific reference to media language and representation holds this back from the upper levels. EBI: There’s a little too much narrative development – keep this to just a sentence or two so you are not using too many words on description. The biggest issue is a lack of specific media language planning – you say what shots you plan to film but not why you will do it and the effect this will have on the audience. You need to use terminology and discuss the connotations of the media language choices you are planning.  1) A preferred reading of a text is the mindset the producers want you to take away from the piece of media that they are showcasing to you. 2) The oppositional reading is the mindset the producers don't want you to take away from the piece of media, basically the opposite of a preferred reading.
