Blog feedback and Learner Response

WWW: Wow – what an absolutely brilliant start to GCSE Media! It is such a pleasure to read your blog and the range of skills you are already displaying. The level of analysis you offer for the WaterAid advert is exactly what we need to be aiming for as we progress through the course and with a gloriously creative fruit bowl too I’m confident the coursework will be a strength as well. Keep up the good work!

EBI: The key message is very simple – keep writing detailed, in-depth analysis exploring all the possible meanings that are being communicated to the audience. In particular, make sure you keep this depth of analysis consistent throughout your work – e.g. in your Stranger Things mise-en-scene analysis your second and third aspects are a little shorter and don’t offer the depth that you could have gone into.

LR:Reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course? How can you improve the depth and detail of your media analysis?

I feel that my strongest peice of work from the past month is both the Concepts key poster and also The stranger things analysis. My weakest i think is The ten questions.I think i need to develop more creative ideas when analysing or denoting and the connotations of that. I can improve my detail in work by trying to put myself in the director or audiences shoes to see what they're thinking and write it down to show i understood both ways of seeing the work.
